I suddenly realise that i am starting school tomorrow.

What the fuck? Holiday ended? Just like that?

Luckily i have no holiday assignments…

Lee Mei left for Berlin, Germany today to start on her new job. It is kind of sad to see her walk through the departure gate alone, leaving her family and friends behind to pursue her career.

One part of me is proud of her because it is not everyday you have the courage to walk out of Singapore to pursue something. Another part of me is filled with envy, cause she is going Europe, for whatever damn sake and not some ulu or backward country.

But, i guess, the dominant feeling is still a tinge of sadness. I mean, i know her since i was 15 or 16 and has worked with her for at least 3 to 4 years. No doubt, there are times we have conflicts but most of the time is filled with happy memories. It is a joy working with her for Kenshus or outings and she always never fail to touch me with her overflowing compassion.

Right now, i just want to wish her bon voyage and that she will adapt quickly to the new environment, which i know she will. Just don’t bring back a German husband. Haha

“Car? Nah. We only have BMW. Bus, MRT, Walk.”

- Kelvin How

After the annual office Christmas party blow-out, John woke up with a pounding headache, cotton-mouthed, and utterly unable to recall the events of the preceding evening.

After a trip to the bathroom he was able to make his way downstairs, where his wife put some coffee in front of him.

“Louise,” he moaned, “tell me what went on last night. Was it as bad as I think?”

“Even worse,” she assured him in her most scornful one. “You made a complete jerk of yourself, succeeded in antagonizing the entire board of directors, and insulted the chairman of the company to his face.”

“He’s an arrogant, self-important pig, piss on him!”

“You did. All over his suit,” Louise informed him. “And he fired you.”

“Well, screw him,” said John.

“I did. You’re back at work on Monday.”

The global economy is getting from bad to worse.

Not too long ago, Merrill Lynch was bought over by the Bank Of America.

The Lehman Brothers file for bankruptcy.

And now, Morgan Stanley is desperately looking for someone so it can stay alive.

Ouch. As financial giants fall one by one, one can’t help but think that this global economy meltdown is going to last at least till next year and everyone is feeling the heat.

We may cruise out of this crisis, eventually but are we able to break the curse of suffering an economic crisis every 10 years?

Bad Mood Calvin

Suddenly… a thought flash past and it makes me very very emo.

And only one song can match the thought.

One for the Ladies

A very attractive lady goes up to a bar in a quiet rural pub. She gestures alluringly to the bartender who comes over immediately. When he arrives, she seductively signals that he should bring his face closer to hers. When he does, she begins to gently caress his full beard.

“Are you the manager?” she asks, softly stroking his face with both hands. “Actually, no,” the man replies.

“Can you get him for me? I need to speak to him,” she says, running her hands beyond his beard and into his hair.

“Can’t,” breathes the bartender. “He’s not here. Is there anything I can do?”

“Yes, there is. I need you to give him a message,” she continues, running her forefinger across the bartender’s lips and slyly popping a couple of her fingers into his mouth and allowing him to suck them gently.

“What should I tell him?” the bartender manages to say.

“Tell him,” she whispers, “there is no toilet paper, hand soap, or paper towels in the ladies room.”

Well, this is it. My 21st birthday. Official entry into the adult’s club.

Some celebrate it with style, while some opt for simpler ways of celebration.

Mine must be the most unglamorous way. I am stuck at home and down with a cold. How cool is that? No party, no presents, not even a cake. Just me and the four walls.

But at least i can still make some wishes. Or so i think. The cold is affecting every part of my body and damn, i swear it has freeze parts of my brain. Now my mind is blank and thoughts are minimal.

I am so going to get emo. Very very emo.

Lian He Zao Bao(联和早报) reported that in China there is a family which has produced teachers for a whopping 494 years, spanning 16 generations. Wow! In fact, the family is so famous that in the town they live in, there is a saying about them.

However, due to the fact that teachers in China receive low pay and not-so-good treatment, descendants belonging to the 17th generation are shying away from the education industry, prefering to engage in industries that has better prospects. Wah piang. Does that spell the end of the family glory lasting 16 generations? Wah, if so, very sad man.

Hopefully someone in the family will wake up and become a teacher and not let the glory fade to darkness. I mean, being a teacher is not something shameful. In fact, it is something noble as a teacher shape the future of a nation. 孩子 may be 未来的主人翁, but you need teachers to nurture and guide them so that our future is in safe hands. That is why i hope the family will be able to carry on their so called family business and not let anything break the succession.
